Brrr... getting cold in the mornings....

So I just bought myself some cycling gloves to keep my fingers warm as I skateboard to the train station in the mornings. I did already have some thick gloves but I couldn't use them because with them on I couldn't fit my finger behind the trigger on the skateboard controller!

Bought these ones on eBay from seller Mammalz who's shop specialises in cycling and fitness gear. The gloves are made of Lycra material and are soft and stretchable. Does the job perfectly and only cost me a fiver! The material is thin enough that I can even wear them when carrying the skateboard by the lift holes.

  1. Hey, your blog is very informative for this very under reviewed board! I've got myself a junior longboard for commuting as well but quite underwhelmed by how slow it is/its bad uphill ability! Any thoughts on upgrades, or do you know any community of volo-e (or other similar Chinese generic) board users? Thanks in advance!

  2. Hi Rahmanahmad, thanks for taking an interest in my blog. If you are commuting sounds like you are an adult like me. If an adult (or adult size), you definitely need a senior board rather than a junior board. I think speed on a junior board is 9-10mph max, whereas for the senior board its 13-15mph (depending on weight). The motor power rating is lower on the junior. I think the biggest improvement would be to swap to a motor that is used in the senior board. I am not sure if you would need to change the motor controller too. I were you I would contact Stephen from Volo-E and ask if it would be possible to upgrade your junior to senior spec.

  3. Hi Rahmanahmad, you are right, there doesn't seem to be very much information about this board. This was one of the reasons I started this blog. I'm currently preparing a FAQ to help other Volo-E users. All the information I have gathered for the FAQ was by bugging the manufacturer with questions and from my own experience.

  4. One more thing Rahmanahmad. Yes, these boards are not as good as the others for going up hills. Other board manufacturers use high watt motors, or use two motors to provide the torque. There is another simpler way:- use smaller diameter wheels - but this is done at the expense of top speed.
